MOODY MONTH IS THE MOST FEMINIST PERIOD APP AND HERE’S WHY

Why we’re partnering with Moody Month—the period app by women for women that believes the future is emotionally intelligent …

Moody App period The Numinous

Period apps are big business—but did you know that many of them are mining your data for profit? Hormonal fluctuations mean there are times during the month when you’re more likely to spend money … priceless information for advertisers. But Moody Month is different. Created by women for women, the mission at Moody Month HQ is to help users cultivate emotional intelligence, and to start using our feeling states to empower ourselves instead.

For this reason, we are super-stoked to announce that from next month we’ll be creating exclusive in-app content for Moody Month all about the lunar cycles, and how the motions of the cosmos impact our moods throughout the month. It’s a match, literally, made in the heavens! Check out our Q&A with co-founder Amy Thomson on how she uses her moods to her advantage, in business and in life, and why she thinks emotional intelligence is the future …

Moody Month co-founders Lola Ross, Amy Thomson, and Karla Vitrone

The Numinous: When did you realize that our moods are our hidden superpowers?
Amy Thomson: As with many women, it was only when something went wrong. This is often connected to adverse effects from the contraceptive pill or illness, but my personal experience was that my periods stopped totally due to stress. The fact that something I had taken for granted was suddenly gone, was a massive sign that I hadn’t been listening to my body. The shock of this meant I experienced a new found love and respect for my moods and cycle.

TN: Which of our moods do you think is most misunderstood?
AT: Fear—which is an important barometer of people and environments to avoid. And fear can also be a huge asset in our decision-making about life, love and work. If nothing you’re doing makes you feel a little afraid, you’re not taking any risks in life, and therefore not pushing yourself to grow. Often, we are most fearful of the decisions that will be the most transformative.

TN: As a female founder, how has harnessing your hormones helped you?
AT: Knowing my highs and lows makes me a much better leader and decision maker. It allows me to know when I’m going to be able to make hard choices, or even when to raise money. Self doubt is a huge challenge for any person leading a business, and imposter syndrome is even more prominent in female founders and leaders. Knowing when in the month my body is going to be most vulnerable, and my moods most reflective, allows me to prepare for this flaring up, so I plan my month to manage the momentum of the business. Knowing my hormones makes me feel less guilty for moods and emotions that are all equally valid parts of who I am.

Outtake from the U.S. launch last month

TN: Other period apps harvest women’s data for profit. What’s that all about?!
AT: Women’s health, and reproductive health in particular, has been either stigmatized or monetized for centuries, and other period apps using data to target users with advertising at certain times of the month (when hormonal fluctuations make them more likely to spend money, for example), is simply more of the same. We started Moody, which is created by women for women, to change the system and write new rules for women’s health. Our technology is emotionally intelligent in its output and its ethics.

TN: We’re all about “manifesting the matriarchy”—how will more feminine models of leadership do you think will most impact the world going forward?
AT: Patriarchy is obsessed with ego and logic, and since AI and robots do logic better than humans now, the time has come for us to tap back into our human superpowers—our emotions. I see this happening in real time, and women’s—and men’s—emotional language and biological cycles are poised to give us prominent leverage in this pivoting world. The era of EQ over IQ is NOW, and it’s time for women to claim back our moods and emotions as the currency of the future!

THE MARCH 2019 LIBRA FULL MOON WANTS YOU TO GET MOVING

The first 2019 Libra Full Moon brings a moment of forward motion on your mission to align more closely with your Self, says Sandy Sitron

Full Moon // March 20 2019 // 9:45 pm EDT // 0 degrees Libra

Climbing and climbing. You are paving your own way up the mountain. The sun beats down and reminds you that you have skin. Your exhalations are heavy as you ascend.

On March 20, we have the first 2019 Libra Full Moon (there are two this year). It occurs as the gate opens to Aries season and we step into an astrological New Year with the Vernal Equinox. This 2019 Libra Full Moon is taking you on a solo hike. You are blazing your trail, healing your wounds, and working with your inner rebel, all the while seeking mental clarity and balance.

This hike is a metaphor for any place you are taking action in your life. On some level, the sheer effort you are taking on reminds you of your life force. Your life force is how you “do,” “act,” and “be,” without impacting anyone else. During Aries season, this translates to: “I climbed a mountain, I am alive!”

Where are you taking action in your life right now? This is the path of your ascension. Can you let yourself just “do” without judging your own actions? A part of you needs the freedom to simply make it happen. So take a chance. It’s right there. Get moving.

It seems peaceful enough on this journey, but there are secretive shadows along the edges of the trail. You may find yourself wondering: who is hiding out there in the nooks and crannies? What is going to leap out and attack me?But the real question is: what has been hiding out on the inside? During this Full Moon in Libra, past wounds and insecurities may rise to the surface.

You can’t control what’s triggered, but you can soothe the source. Use your memory to travel back in time to the small child who felt unsure and afraid. We all harbor ancient fears that rise up here and there. Comfort yourself with words of love and encouragement as you climb.

Now, you reach the top of the mountain. Notice the clean, cool air. You’ve always known this is what you were aiming for—and now that you’re here, it’s time to cultivate an equanimous state of mind. Meditate. Give gratitude for the efforts and actions that brought you here. Focus on your breath. Create your own inner peace.

Meditation is so key at this time, as your goal now is to stabilize. To do this, simply stand on the balance beam and forget to ask yourself if you’re balancing.

So, now you’re settled into meditation at the top of your own mountain. The climb has been challenging. The dangers along the path have been faced. But it was all an act of self-expression that has led you back to yourself. Back to your own crystalline clarity. Your moment of oneness and balance with all that you are.

A Libra Full Moon is technically supposed to be about relationship. And it will be. But make this moment, now, about honing your relationship with yourself. You are dealing with your old scary monsters. You are taking the actions that make you feel the most alive. This is how you will find inner balance and show up authentically in relationship to others.

///

Moon opposite Chiron
The secretive shadows alongside the trail. Will something jump out?
The old triggers get activated. Notice that they are the same ones, always. And that if you run toward them instead of away, they become much less scary. This 2019 Libra Full Moon brings a chance to tend to your old wounds. To go deep, down, and under. To the past. To the source. To show up for who you were then and to forgive yourself.

This is deep inner work and no one should explore these caverns without a buddy or at least a harness. You’ve got options, so find the support you need. And if you tangle toes with someone who’s avoiding the deep work, but who is getting triggered and acting out, you’ll at least have a frame of reference for what’s going on.

Driving a flying saucer.
Do you know how to work this thing? The controls are foreign and the starship has unearthly functions. Your emotions might be like the flying saucer at this 2019 Libra Full Moon. Normally you have a pretty good sense of how your feelings work. But now you’re traveling in another dimension.

You’re being asked to get used to a new way of navigating emotional territory. It might feel out of control at first, but just keep trying. Even if you get frustrated. Eventually you’ll push enough buttons that you figure out how to drive your ship forward at warp speed, and from there, everything will become possible.

THE 2019 PISCES NEW MOON WANTS YOU TO FIND STABILITY IN SURRENDER

The 2019 Pisces New Moon invites us to find solid ground through sweet surrender, and to float towards our goals instead of forcing, says Sandy Sitron

New Moon :: March 6th 2019 :: 11:05am EST :: 15 degrees Pisces

To understand yourself at this New Moon, get ready to become a subconscious spelunker, diving through underwater caves. Take a ride on the metaphor train.

The first stop on this dreamy adventure is a visit to the Moon. We need to know what the Moon has to say. This is a chance to open up the windows and doors of our subconscious and connect to our spiritual truth.

Pisces energy is nonverbal and communicates in the language of symbol. It will help us to learn metaphorically.

So today, the Moon is a mermaid. This mermaid is practical. She is all-business. She is matter-of-fact. A grounded and responsible mermaid? How could this be? How could she be grounded if she lives in the sea? She knows what she values and her intentions are steady. She is willing to work. But she’s also fluid. She doesn’t try to control her erratic environment.

This New Moon is teaching you how to pivot gracefully. Can you swim through your day? Not trying to control up or down? Not bucking against the current? Yet still feeling grounded, secure, and serene?

This New Moon is properly positioned to help you stabilize. But you must be willing to accept a kind of abnormal stability. You will naturally need to do things differently. Let your intuition guide you. Ask for signs and symbols.

To get something done, you will need to float toward it. Bump into it like a sailboat grazing against a dock. Let things drift into place. Notice what floating can do for you. Letting go of control is the ultimate win.

Be a sailboat, not a sailor. Be a mermaid who gets things done without a plan. Find your footing in water. The point is that you can’t plan, but you can still feel steady. Your steadiness must come from your connection to self and spirit.

Pisces is the vibration of universal truth. It is about transcending the Earth plane and moving into the realms of emotion, intuition, and compassion. To get to this other dimension, you need to creatively swim through your own physical boundaries. You have to change your perspective.

///

Uranus moves into Taurus
Tsunami. Uranus’ ingress into Taurus is what adds the erratic quality to this moment. Visualize yourself as a dreamy fish-person. If you are deep down in the water, do you notice the tsunami? Meaning, if you are deeply connected to your inner wisdom, does the chaos in the world even phase you?

///

New Moon sextile Saturn and Mars
The practical mermaid. Earthy and supportive aspects to Mars in Taurus and Saturn in Capricorn give this Pisces New Moon a surprisingly practical edge. That’s what makes this mermaid rather grounded. But with Mercury retrograde, if you try to give the mermaid too much to do, she’ll dry up. Let her drift into work and notice how much she gets accomplished.

///

New Moon conjunct Neptune
Let the fish slip through your fingers. The Sun and Moon are joined by fishy Neptune in the sign of Pisces, making this New Moon a slippery friend. Don’t try to tighten your grip too much, you’ll lose your prize. Let go of control. Instead, loosen up and drift lightly into your own ocean of inner wisdom by trusting your process. You can’t plan it. But you can bump into it.

THE 2019 VIRGO FULL MOON WANTS YOU TO REFINE YOUR VIBRATION

The 2019 Virgo Full Moon is an opportunity to adjust our approach and refine our routines, so we can create everyday magic that heals both body and soul, says Sandy Sitron

Full Moon :: February 19 2019 :: 10:53 am EST :: 0 degrees Virgo

Zoom way in and visualize the reverberation of a single harp string. Watch as it undulates, chaotic yet controlled. Science has discovered that the harp has healing qualities, bestowing upon the musician a healthier nervous system and curing countless mental and physical ailments. But no one knows why it works.

A Full Moon occurs when the Sun and the Moon are exactly opposite. This opposition forces new levels of awareness as we try to integrate two very different energies at once. It is explosive and expansive.

Themes of healing are highlighted at this Full Moon. Healing the physical realm by making adjustments to the functional systems (Virgo). And healing the spiritual body through an expansion of faith and compassion (Pisces).

There are theories that the harp’s tiny vibrations stimulate the lymph system. I like to imagine that these minute vibrations somehow tone and balance every cell in the body, like every cell getting a microscopic spa day.

A Virgo Full Moon is a time to tone physical systems through minor adjustments, while surrendering the big-picture “how” or “why” to the abyss of Piscean miracles.

Virgo teaches us how to refine and improve the components of our physical reality, so that we can maximize health and efficiency. Pisces instructs us to loosen our grip on reality and dissolve into the magical dream. To recede back into the world of spirit where all is love and connection.

What is your equivalent of the healing harp these days? What restores you so that you can function most efficiently? Is there an instrument, practice, or habit that helps you transcend?

Sometimes a Virgo Full Moon can bring a potential for overthinking and perfectionism. But with a graceful trine between the Moon, Uranus, and Mars, be open to surprising new ways of doing things. You could be just as likely to bust out and spontaneously take on a new approach.

This Virgo Full Moon occurs at the very beginning of Pisces Season, which is all about flowing with the feelings, and showing yourself deep empathy so that you have the reserves to understand the emotional side of the human experience. It’s Compassion 101.

This Full Moon is an island in the sea of Pisces-style emotions. This sliver of earth is where you’ll set sail from. And right now you are packing up your ship. If you prepare your craft now, you’ll be able to sail safely through emotional waters in the weeks ahead.

Pay attention to all the details as you pack and prepare. Get things organized. Practice good habits. How can you be more efficient? There are small things that you can do, physical practices that will support your health. Like the healing harp, the small vibrations that you create in your life might have seemingly miraculous results.

New discoveries are coming in rapidly with this Full Moon, so expect change to be easy. Be open to it as you continue to practice, refine, work, and stay busy. And remain very aware of your instrument – your body. What can you do to create vibrational alignment that results in apparent miracles?

Virgo is interested in the minutia, the tiny vibrations of the harp strings. Virgo is the musician who practices diligently, refining and improving every movement over time. Pisces offers a result that’s greater than the sum of its parts – miraculous alchemy. At this Full Moon, it’s time to have both.

A puff mushroom explodes.
The puff mushroom is moon-like in shape and color. When it ripens just enough, it will spontaneously explode and release baby mushroom spores to the wind. It’s a surprise that’s expected. Just as natural as drinking a glass of water. But when it happens, there’s still a minor shock. Everything is different in a moment.

There are surprises coming that you may be expecting. They can help you move to the next phase in your development. Sometimes you just need an extra push to create change. This is it.

A horse and carriage.
Your ride is waiting. It’s obvious that it’s time to get moving. And it’s not difficult. All you have to do is get in and go. Yes, this is a horse and carriage, not a car or a jet plane. So we are taking into account that some extra preparations have been made. The horses are brushed and harnessed. You’ve had to pack for a difficult journey, there are no corner stores or debit cards on this ride. Instead, there are long winding roads and you must be prepared. But you also need to make your move now because the carriage is waiting. It should be easy at this point to get in and drive.

WHY SKINCARE IS A SPIRITUAL PRACTICE

Fed up with the beauty industry’s impossible standards, Giselle La Pompe-Moore set out to heal her relationship with her skin at soul level. She explains why skincare is a spiritual practice …

Giselle La Pompe-Moore

Have you ever thought about your skin beyond aesthetics?

We can spend hours in front of the mirror analyzing every pore and perceived flaw, but we rarely see beyond this. But on a deeper level, our skin is a barrier between our internal and external worlds. Something both public and deeply personal at once.

This skin allows us to experience the universe around us, to touch and be touched in return. This is why skincare is a spiritual practice.

The color of my skin was different from most of the people I grew up with, and from the women I saw in the media. I loved my skin, but as a black woman I always felt like an “other.” Was always comparing my skin to that of somebody else. The black women I DID see on TV and in magazines seemed hyper-real, with flawless, perfect skin. In an attempt to replicate this for myself, I pursued a career as a beauty editor, drowning myself in products.

Over the years, I began to notice that while creams and treatments can heal the skin externally, they do nothing to address feelings of not being good enough, of shame, and of endless comparison.

And so I took a step back to shift my focus from how skin looks on the outside to what it reflects about our inner life. To investigate the impact of spiritual tools, such as reiki, meditation and tarot, on our relationships with the skin we are in.

Now working as a healer specializing in skincare, I’ve seen how acne, psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema have impacted the way my clients move through the world. I’ve listened to stories about what they’ll do once their skin is “healed, better, or different,” while denying themselves of the life they could be living right now. I’ve also learned that our skin is the physical embodiment of our innate self-worth.

Whether you’re working through a skin condition, are struggling to accept your physical appearance, or want to add some spirit to your skincare, here are the tools that I’ve used on myself and my clients to help shift our skincare mindset …

///

1// Give yourself a crystal facial massage
Crystals can work wonders helping to set intentions around your skin—and one way is with a crystal facial massage. Here’s how to do it:

  • Choose a crystal that symbolizes your skin intention. Pink Transparent Calcite (for non-judgment and comparison), Apatite (willpower for shifting your skin mindset) and Malachite (forgiveness, committing to this journey) are some of the crystals I’ve prescribed to clients.
  • Get comfortable, cleanse your space, and connect to the crystal. Hold it in your hand and feel its energy. As you hold it, visualize your intention. If it’s to help you to forgive yourself for the unkind words you’ve said about your skin in the past, imagine this forgiving energy passing through your body. Then ask the crystal to offer you support and guidance in achieving this.
  • With the crystal in front of you, start to massage all around your face in upward and outward strokes using a face oil. With each movement, feel your intention sinking into your skin at the same time.

///

2// Journal to go beneath the surface
A lot of our limiting beliefs about our appearance reside deep below the surface. Use journaling to investigate your relationship with your skin and unearth subconscious beliefs.

Here are a few questions to start with:

-How would you describe your skin? Think about the language you use, is it positive or negative?
-What does the word ‘comparison’ bring up for you, in relation to your skin?
-What memories do you have where someone made a comment about your skin or appearance and how has this had an impact on you?
-What has your inner critic said to you today? Do you believe what it told you? How do you usually talk to yourself when you’re in front of the mirror?

Through journaling, I realized that I used only negative words to describe my skin and would skip past the features I liked. So I decided to start accentuating the parts of my face that I did love, like my lips. See what comes up for you and what tools you can use to release and heal these limiting beliefs. I’ve used tapping (Emotional Freedom Technique), binaural beats and visualization in response to what I uncovered in my journal, and written letters to my skin.

3// Synch your skincare with the Moon
The phases of the Moon phases can provide a mirror to examine our self-image triggers, and a framework for charting our inner work and emotional landscape over a period of time. Here’s how to incorporate each phase into your skincare routine …

New Moon. Use this time of new beginnings to set an intention for your skin. It could be to reconnect with your skin. Start with self-massage, simply feeling the skin beneath your fingertips. This is also the time to add any new products in to your beauty routine.

Waxing Moon. Check in with the intentions you set at the New Moon, examining how you’re feeling about your appearance now, and thinking about how you can move closer to growing your intentions and reconnecting with your skin. Your skin is also the most absorbent and receptive to nutrients now, so add in a serum with hydrating properties or a nourishing face mask.

Full Moon. Take a moment to celebrate yourself, thanking yourself for all of the work you’ve been doing to shift your skin mindset. There can be heightened emotions and energy at this time, so make sure you’re filling your cup back up with restorative baths or an Ayurvedic abhyanga massage.

Waning Moon. Use this phase for journaling and exploring the limiting beliefs that might have come up for you over this cycle, reflecting on what you need to release in order to grow. To support this internal cleansing and shedding, use an exfoliating body scrub, try body brushing, or add in a detoxifying charcoal soap to draw out impurities and toxins.

Dark Moon. Give yourself a break! It’s easy to end up with spiritual overload, I’ve been there many times – digging into shadow work, past life astrology, and the deepest crevices of my psyche all before lunch ain’t easy! Allow yourself this time to restore, heal, imagine, and to press pause.

///

4// Use the tarot to talk to your skin
The tarot is a powerful tool for working on your mindset and self-worth, and I use it daily for both myself and in my rediscovery: skin sessions. You can start with a single card pull, asking the deck to show you how you can work on your self-image. Use the cards to start a conversation with your skin and listen to what it needs.

Example:
In the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, the Two of Swords depicts a blindfolded woman with two swords crossed over her. The moon is above her and a body of water lies behind her. This card is all about taking the time and space to be still and look inwards. To embody this card, think about how you can create a boundary that allows you to dive into your own self-care. Allow this stillness to offer you intuitive guidance as to where you’re in need of healing and any areas of low self-worth. Use this as an invitation to see through your third eye rather than your physical eyes.

///

5// Meditate for both mind and skin
Meditation is a powerful tool for shifting our skin mindset, and for relieving the stress that can trigger or aggravate neuro-inflammatory conditions such as acne.

In sessions, I guide my clients through a skin-focused meditation, which fosters gratitude, forgiveness, acceptance, and kindness, and includes a simultaneous facial self-message that creates physical connection with the skin.

*You can download a version of this meditation HERE. You’ll need cleansed skin, a comfortable space, and a facial oil in easy reach, then plug in and tune out.

Giselle La Pompe-Moore offers one-to-one rediscovery: skin sessions that guide you to shift your skin mindset to a path of acceptance and gratitude. Her rediscovery: soul sessions incorporate reiki, tarot, and meditation. Both are held either virtually or in-person in London. She also hosts monthly Mirrorscope skin healing circles

THE 2019 AQUARIUS NEW MOON HAS A MESSAGE FOR YOU

The 2019 Aquarius New Moon is a potent opportunity for fresh visions, transformational downloads, and radical release, says Sandy Sitron

Aquarius New Moon 2019 Sandy Sitron The Numinous

New Moon :: February 4th, 2019 :: 4:04 pm EST :: 15 degrees Aquarius

Hold the earpiece of an old fashioned telephone, and wait patiently. Practice listening. There’s a message coming down the line.

On February 4th we have a New Moon in visionary Aquarius. This moon has a lot to say. But the first thing it wants you to do is listen. Get silent and be present.

Wait for the message. Time condenses as you embody stillness and practice listening.

The message finally comes through. It’s juicy. This moon is wrapped in ideas and potential. It’s like a perfectly ripe pear. You can hold it in one hand, but when you bite into it the juice travels down your arm. A compact message, filled with information.

When you receive the message that this moon will deliver, it will be time to activate. You might slam down the telephone and spring to action. You might go running for a napkin to wipe up all the pear juice. Once it begins there will be no delay.

It is exciting. And transformational. A New Moon is a chance for a new beginning and this one in the sign of Aquarius is helping you bring your ideas and vision for the future to the world. This lunation is pumped up with energy. There’s action and release happening all at once. In the background beats the drum of expansion. Listen for it. Your big ideas are supported. Receive your message and run with it.

Aquarius is the sign of innovation, vision, and collaboration. This is not the time to hole up with Netflix and a cozy blanket. You need to be engaged, alert, and present so that you can incubate new ideas. Then you’ll be able to share these ideas with others and really take things to the next level.

Here are the steps for this New Moon and the days that follow …

Listen and wait for the message.

The message is coming and it’s going to be juicy.

When you get it, you need to spring into action.

Be willing to transform some things. To let go and be surprised.

Set the stage for an innovative new concept or a new mental framework to emerge within you. It’s time for fresh vision. You are ready for it.

Share your heart, your ideas and your vision for the future. You can make change happen. Or maybe you can discover that you are willing to change your mind.

Think about the greater community that surrounds you. How do you want to collaborate? What do you want to share?

The answer will become more clear over the coming weeks. For now, listen for silence on the other end of the telephone. Silence and stillness are your first steps. Silence is nowhere and everywhere. You can hear silence under and around other sounds. Silence has different textures and opacities.

Be very present while you wait. And before you know it, the message will have arrived.

These ideas will light up your next phase with dazzling promises. So make sure you’re paying attention.

Keep your vibration tuned to love. Don’t hold back from enjoying attention or celebration. Let it propel you forward.

THE 2019 LEO FULL MOON LUNAR ECLIPSE WANTS YOU TO SHINE ON

The 2019 Leo Full Moon Lunar Eclipse is a powerful invitation to push past resistance, hit the refresh button on your creativity, and show up ready to sparkle, says Sandy Sitron

Full Moon Lunar Eclipse :: January 21 2019 :: 12:17am EST :: 0 degrees Leo

Lace up your shoes and get ready to play a game. Grab your bowling ball and hurl it down the lane. It’s time to take aim. You’ll set up the pins and you’ll knock them down. How the game is played depends on your exuberance, focus, and finesse.

On Monday at 12:17am EST, the skies light up with a Full Moon Total Lunar Eclipse in the sign of Leo. There’s a lot going on at this Full Moon. Most importantly, we get ready to hit the refresh button. Since February 2017, most of the eclipses have illuminated the Leo/Aquarius axis, and this is the final one. The Leo/Aquarius Eclipses have helped us define our individuality and loop us into the collective.

Eclipses help us end old patterns and start new ones. There are multiple themes coming to the surface at this important lunation. Mercury (the ruler of writing) is still in matter-of-fact Capricorn, so I’ll be practical and describe these themes one by one:

First of all, how are you approaching your work? How do you set ‘em up and how do you knock ‘em down? With Mars square Saturn exactly at this Full Moon, you need to go after what you want, but you need to do it in a structured way. This aspect can put the pressure on. Are you willing to release some tension and create a new pattern around how you work?

Next, put yourself out there and play the game, while tenderly tending to your ego. You have something to share and you need to shine. This is a Full Moon in the theatrical and brilliant sign of Leo. Leo urges you to share your unique soul with other people, through creativity and play.

Sometimes the R word, “resistance,” comes up when we try to put ourselves out there. It can be scary to be exposed. This Full Moon urges you to push past resistance and fear so that you can get out there on the slickly polished floors of the bowling alley, ready to play. Do a little dance. Show off! Shine!

Is there a message or creative spark that you’ve been too afraid to share? This Eclipse might open the windows and doors for you. Create a new pattern. The sign of Leo reminds us to begin by being playful and see where we go from there.

Finally, circumstances may seem precious or important right now, but can you set your ego aside and make it into a fun game where everyone gets to take a turn? The more that you are able to release a preoccupation with self, the more mental perspective you can achieve.

Overall, this is a moment for spontaneous and creative action. Have fun with it! Play a game. When the bowling pins are cleared away, it’s time to start all over. Let yourself have a fresh start every time. Allow space for your uniqueness, and use this Full Moon to celebrate and release!

Open to the fact that the plan can only take you so far. There is genius that arises in the moment.

You are removing layers of residue. Sitting in the muck might be a way to feel clean. Healing is happening easily and spontaneously. It’s taking unexpected twists and turns. It could be that one moment you’re covered in a dry clay mask, dirtier than you’ve ever been before, but in a good way. And the next moment your skin glows with refreshment. Don’t be afraid of tears or emotional release. Just like the mud bath, they are an unexpected way to peel back the layers.

WHAT IS A MOON PLUTO PERSON?
In my early 30s, I got an astrology reading. It was my second one ever, I think. The astrologer took one look at my birth chart and said to me these words: emotionally intense! He was eyeballing that Moon Pluto conjunction in Virgo in my First House.

Please don’t fret if my astro-jargon is confusing. Here’s the gist:

If the Moon and Pluto intermingle in your chart, you’re a Moon Pluto person. This means your emotions are powerful, forceful, intense. And those emotions, at times, may get you into trouble.

Moon = feelings and Pluto = powerful. Pluto always intensifies what it touches.

///

YOUR CHART IS A MAP OF YOU
Your birth chart is a map of your soul’s adventure in this lifetime, but also your day to day personality. Throughout their lives, Moon Pluto people are told: you’re too sensitive, too emotional, too obsessive, too serious!

The feelings can be so intense, all consuming, that we often feel we must DO SOMETHING with them, and we should, although there are good and less good options.

What I describe below may seem intense, but being a Moon Pluto person really is a gift, and I’ll tell you why: we are deep, sensitive, creative, intuitive. This is good! The depth comes from the feelings, especially the ones we don’t want to feel, the ones that may scare us and others too. This world is rarely equipped to handle such intensity and passion pouring out of a single individual.

It’s up to you to save yourself, my darlings, but I can help …

///

ARE YOU A MOON PLUTO PERSON?
The following is a general and not exhaustive list for how to identify a Moon Pluto person in the wild.

*Note: if you respond to what I’m saying here, but can’t claim any of these chart placements, your Moon-Pluto-ness is likely showing up in some other way in your birth chart. Also, additional chart factors can tame or exacerbate one’s Moon Pluto intensity.

Does your birth chart have any of the following?

1// The Moon in aspect to Pluto somehow, someway
In astrology, the most talked about aspects (aspects = how the planets in your chart relate to each other) are the conjunction, square, opposition, sextile, and trine.

The first three are noteworthy for the challenges they bring, and the last two for their helpful or lucky qualities. Although the conjunction may be the most disruptive and the sextile or trine the easiest to integrate, ALL Moon Pluto mash-ups make you a Moon Pluto person.

The conjunction
Truth: You feel everything intensely and need constructive outlets for your passions. Or else!

Risk: You blow up at people. You blow up at yourself. “Alone forever!” you cry.

The square
Truth: Emotions are as strong as with the conjunction, but held in. They get buried like bones in the yard until they rise from their graves like the figures on the Judgment Tarot card!

Risk: Trouble identifying exactly how you feel, but feeling the churning and burning within. It’s not heartburn and yet it is.

The opposition
Truth: Most Moon Pluto people get bullied at some point in their lives, but the opposition aspect brings particularly formidable (i.e. scary) foes.

Risk: Staying too long in bad, bad relationships. Many Moon Pluto people are at risk for getting stalked, in guess you were wondering why this has happened to you over and over.

The sextile + trine
Truth: Congratulations! You’ve won the Moon Pluto lottery. The sextile and trine are less angsty overall. You have the positive traits of the other placements and fewer of the extremes.

Risk: No known risks except that depth and sensitivity are rarely in style for long 😉

2// Moon in the Eighth House
Because we associate the Eighth House with Pluto, Moon in the Eighth is a Moon Pluto combo. You feel. You feel deeply. You obsess. You keep secrets about those obsessions. You’re a natural medium. You know stuff. Spooky stuff. Lots of it.

Life Advice: Use your magical powers for good.

///

3// Pluto in the Fourth House
Because we associate the Fourth House with the Moon, Pluto in the Fourth is a Moon Pluto combo. This is the tumultuous-home placement. If you were born with Pluto in the Fourth, there was trauma in childhood. You experienced it or witnessed it or both.

Life Advice: Find that safe and secure home to call your own.

///

4// Moon in Scorpio
Another Moon Pluto mash-up because Scorpio is associated with Pluto. Does anyone really know how you feel? Enigmatic on the outside. Fiery cauldron on the inside!

Life Advice: Learn to let go. As much as I LOVE telling Geminis to meditate (usually the last thing they want to do), I love teaching Scorpio Moons about letting go, whether of unrequited love or vengeance.

MOON PLUTO MAGIC
So now what? What to do with all the tzuris? Here are five ways to soothe your aching Moon Pluto soul:

Art. It doesn’t matter what it is, whether you paint or write or fire dance, make crystal grids. Even housework can be artful. You must EXPRESS YOURSELF. I call it “getting the poison out.” When you create something, you get the Moon Pluto whirlwind out of your body.

Talk. It doesn’t have to be a therapist. It doesn’t have to be an astrologer, tarot reader, healer or anyone you pay. You can talk to a friend, to a stranger at a cafe, as long as your person listens, doesn’t judge. Moon Pluto people feel shame for feeling so much and not always able to master it. They need good people around them.

Heal. I know this may sound like a stretch if you’ve never considered it, but Moon Pluto people are healers. Maybe it’s crossed your mind and you’ve never explored it. Explore it. The healing you give the world could be with your words, your voice, your touch, but I guarantee that you heal yourself by healing others.

Study. Most Moon Pluto people I know are interested in mysticism or magic. You have natural psychic ability and psychic development will not only interest you, but soothe you too. When you study the occult, it’s like a mirror. You see yourself. Find a class on-line or in person or a few good books.

Sweat. Move your body. This is one more way to express those powerful emotions and one of the best ways to release what’s inside of you. It’s an exorcism that you do for yourself. Best if the movement leads to sweat and even tears (blood not required).

Dear Moon Pluto people, I promise you’re not doomed! You can create your life — not in spite of your intense emotions but because of them. With them! Include them in your world and you’ll be the happy happy Moon Pluto person you were always meant to be.

THE 2019 CAPRICORN NEW MOON WANTS YOU TO EMBRACE THE EFFORT

The 2019 Capricorn New Moon is an invitation to build structures that support our soul work, and let leaning into the limits lead to liberation, says Sandy Sitron

New Moon :: January 5 2019 :: 8:29 pm EST :: 15 degrees Capricorn

Careful creases etched in a fine linen paper. Unfold a paper airplane to discover its construction …

On January 5th, 2019 we are graced with a Capricorn New Moon. The Sun and Moon are joined by a line-up of Capricorn soldiers, Mercury, Saturn, and Pluto. All of these planets are activating the sign of hard work, responsibility, structure, utilization, and success.

That means that now is the time to take things apart and look at the underlying structure. Do it so that you can achieve higher heights and better craftsmanship. Your perfect structure will put wind beneath your wings and help you become successful.

An important factor of this symbol is that it describes copying the structure of an existing paper airplane. The process is less creative than just imagining a paper airplane from scratch. That’s important, because at this New Moon there might be a feeling of being limited. There might be a sense that you can’t create freely.

That feeling of restriction may trigger feelings of pessimism and limitation. Just maintain awareness of these emotional tendencies. If you notice them, remember that they are temporary. It is a practical and serious time that is perfect for making solid plans. These plans will help you upgrade, so that you can achieve your highest purpose.

With the Moon making a harmonious glance to Neptune, the planet of dreams, intuition and spirituality, look to your faith for emotional support. Sometimes an overflow of Capricorn energy can make you feel like you need to be scrappy and resourceful. It can make you feel that the weight of the world is on your shoulders. The little voice in your head may say, “You’re not doing enough! Work harder!” Instead of giving that voice full attention, use this Neptunian wave of magic and inter-dimensional insight to help you dream your way out of the effort. Ask your spirit guides for support. Interpret your dreams for guidance. Meditate.

The paper airplane symbol shows that with practicality, the right materials, engineering skills, a plan, and a little hard work— you can take flight. You can cruise up above eye level and gain a little perspective.

Put in the effort to understand the proper steps. Evaluate the materials and resources you have. Operate with caution and practicality at the forefront. With hard work and expert planning, you can create something that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Remember not to let the heightened responsibility of this time drag you down emotionally. Your ultimate goal is to utilize your resources and take your life experience to the next level …

A healthy weed.
Strength, power and vivacity. Deep within your imagination there exists a version of yourself who is a resilient fighter. A strong and prolific beast who will keep on going, no matter how tough it gets. Connect with that part of yourself. You are strong. You can keep going and keep growing and find your way to the sun. A weed can be tenacious and beautiful. Power through and flourish

Moon conjunct Saturn
The appendix of a book.
Go into the back of the book and read all the notes. There is more information that you need to know. You can’t skip any parts and you can’t skip any steps.

Hidden away in the back of the book is an author’s note. It’s not meant to be read or found, but it must be included, either because of law or custom. It’s a note about fear.

Fear is often hidden in the fine print, on the pages that nobody reads. But it’s an important driving force that leaves its emotional imprint everywhere. If you are thorough and you pay attention, you’ll find that you notice when fear is raising its ugly head. When you notice how fear is having an impact, you can face your fears and they will dissolve. Then it will be easier to be successful. Look for hidden fear everywhere, in every emotion or every resistance that you have.

Moon Sextile Neptune
A child is caught up in a day-dream.
Give yourself space to moon about and dream. There is a build-up of pressure at this New Moon and there is work to be done. But you won’t get there through logic alone. You can harness your intuition, your dreams, and your emotions for extra oomph. Feel into it. Feel into what you need to do and how you need to do it. Get yourself emotionally ready. Through this right-brained process, you’ll find that your work is more effective.

THE 2018 LIBRA WANING MOON WANTS YOU TO OWN IT

As we close out the year, the 2018 Libra Waning Moon asks us to face up, stand up, and get real and right with our souls, says Jennifer Racioppi

Waning Quarter Moon // December 29 2018 //  4:34 am ET // 7 degrees Libra

The last Waning Quarter Moon of 2018 highlights the dichotomy between drive, determination, and the quest for power (Capricorn), and the desire for balance, harmony, and justice (Libra).

As the Moon travels through Libra, the Venus-ruled sign of the scales, forming a 90-degree square with the Sun and Saturn, both in Capricorn, she’ll provoke you to stand up for yourself: your values, your desire for pleasure, and your truth. The 2018 Waning Libra Moon leaves little room for nonsense.

Embrace this lunar opportunity as a chance to get real, and right, with your soul …

// The Cycle //
As we close out 2018, we end more than just another year; we also wrap up an over 2-year-long lunar gestation cycle. This Libra Waning Moon highlights the consequences of actions taken on the September 30, 2016, Libra New Moon.

On October 7, 2016, the Washington Post published an article about Donald Trump and Billy Bush having “an extremely lewd conversation about women.” Now here we are, in the midst of Trump’s presidency, as the USA undergoes a governmental shutdown, General Mattis’ resignation/expedited termination, and, all of this happens as the country awaits the results of Bob Mueller’s investigation into President Trump’s potential collusion in the 2016 election.

It’s clear that we may be arriving at a critical turning point in the Trump presidency. You are likely at a critical turning point in your life too. Claim your truth and move forward accordingly.

///

// The Transits //
2019 begins with a whopping solar eclipse Jan 5 at 15 degrees of Capricorn, happening right between Saturn, the lord of karma, and Pluto, the planet of transformation. This planetary formation commands that truth be revealed, and abuses of power healed. The current, pre-eclipse, Libra Waning Moon squares a Saturn-Sun combination. As hard truths reveal themselves, embrace them.

More provocatively, Venus, the planet of love (and ruler of the Moon in Libra), makes a harmonious angle to Pluto, the planet of power. This angle between Venus in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn amplifies lusty desires and the urge to experience sexual pleasure. Cosmic sexual healing, anyone? Sacred sex can bring deep healing, and the release of oxytocin through orgasm can detoxify the body of what it no longer needs.

At the same time, Mars, the ruler of personal will, conjoining Chiron, aka the “wounded healer,” might stimulate feelings of shame. Thoughts like, “Is it ok to want what I want?” or “Am I too pushy, too needy, or too much?” could potentially stand in the way of you enjoying yourself.

Allow yourself to hear and understand what your voice of shame sounds like. Get to know her. But don’t let the voice of shame win. Bow down to the voice of truth instead.

///

// The Square //
The Sun and Saturn sit very close to one another in the sky, amplifying the impact of the great planetary task-master. The Libra Moon, which has a fierce need for justice, squares Saturn, commanding both literal and figurative sobriety.

Get quiet and listen to the voice of truth emerging within. Purify yourself, mind, body, and spirit, so you can hear where your inner voice most concretely wishes to lead you.

///

// The Opportunity //
Remember that you have two options when it comes to reconciling difficult feelings and emotions, especially shame: you can talk out your feelings and thoughts, or you can act them out. Choosing to talk things out now, helps you make better decisions later. It also opens you up to acknowledging what you no longer need, want, or desire, and makes room for you to enjoy Venus’ luscious connection with Pluto, and its potential for healing through pleasure.

Libra, a justice-oriented sign that craves beauty, love, and relationship, isn’t shy when it comes to standing up for what it believes. Consider what’s coming full circle in your life right now. Perhaps it’s year-end related. Maybe it correlates with actions taken years ago, around the time of the 2016 Libra New Moon.

Shed the lies and limiting beliefs that have kept you playing it small. Whether it’s the old pair of socks or the relationship that pulls you into toxic dynamics, again and again, let this Libra Waning Moon act as a cosmic vacuum cleaner sucking up the dirt. With the new year just a few days away, choose to embrace the openness and sobriety of truth. With the world at a critical political moment, staying in a healthy place, mentally and emotionally, supports you on your individual path.

The upcoming Capricorn New Moon Solar Eclipse in Jan 5 invites you to conjure and create a life that reflects the most real sense of who you are. Start preparing for it now.

THE 2018 CANCER FULL MOON WANTS YOU TO RE-PARENT YOURSELF

As we close out the year, the 2018 Cancer Full Moon is a rich opportunity to give ourselves the nurturance we deeply deserve so our fortified root systems can support new growth, says Sandy Sitron

sandy sitron sandra sitron ruby warrington the numinous the now age material girl mystical world 2018 cancer full moon sasha freeman
Photo: Sasha Freemind

Full Moon :: December 22 2018 :: 12:50 pm EST :: 0 degrees Cancer

Dig a deep hole near the root system of a tree. As you dig, you disturb the old growth. You disrupt the system. You will plant a seed in this hole.

It’s not easy to plant new life among old growth. The established roots create barriers for the little seedling. This old root system may not seem like fertile ground. But life will find a way. Plant your seed and gemination will occur. A new way becomes incubated. New life develops next to old growth.

At the Full Moon, the Capricorn Sun opposes the Cancer Moon. Cancer is the sign of nurturing new life. Capricorn is the sign of old established growth. These are the two parents of the zodiac. Cancer gives tenderness and love, and Capricorn gives discipline. This is your opportunity to balance nurturance and structure.

A Full Moon creates pressure as two opposite signs create a push-pull. A tug of war. In this case the question of opposites is, how will you be kind and firm with yourself at the same time? Kind and firm, just like a good parent. This weekend, you may find opportunities to re-parent yourself.

The image of the seed planted among the roots of the tree describes the new emotional pattern that you can nurture within yourself. You’re not starting fresh. You’ve got old habits, patterns, and conditioning to contend with. But you can re-parent yourself and nurture a new habit reaction.

At this Full Moon, there’s pressure. It’s coming in from all directions. Instead of avoiding it, sit with it. Sit with the emotional aspect of the pressure you’re under.

For example, if you are feeling the pressure of “not enough time,” what’s the emotional story that goes with that? If you’re feeling pressure of “doing a good job,” how does that actually feel? Like shame? Fear? The pressure of “I’m not good enough” has a feeling quality. What is it? Even celebration has its own kind of pressure. Sometimes we have a feeling that the event or party has to be really good, and the stakes are high. What’s the emotion around that?

The first step to re-parenting is to sit with any feelings instead of avoiding them. Befriend those feelings. Notice where they reside in your body. Take a few deep breaths. Relax into the feelings. Don’t run away.

Allow yourself to visualize these emotions as a form of energy that floats just outside of yourself. Now see this energy form as yourself as a child. What age are they? What do they need? Talk to this version of your inner-child with a compassionate and firm voice. Give them the support that they need. Give them the love that they need. Explore how you can begin to take care of the child-like part of yourself better on a daily basis. How can you nurture yourself more?

This is your big work at the Cancer Full Moon. Steady yourself by loving yourself more. Find new pathways to connect with and nurture your inner child. This process will help you find the alignment that you crave in the New Year. It will help you strengthen your root system and develop new growth within yourself.

Moon square Uranus
Shoulder no burdens.
It’s time to shake it off. Transmute the disturbances to your energetic field. Release and heal. This is a moment to start fresh, like a newborn.

You have been growing and developing. Time continues and we age. But we can continuously go back to the beginning and start fresh. Through deep love and compassion for self we upgrade and innovate the old patterns. This is a time for an electrical re-start.

THE 2018 PISCES WAXING MOON WANTS YOU TO LIVE THE DREAM

The 2018 Pisces Waxing Moon asks us to relax in the face of year-end pressures, embrace all that is unknown, and let our dreams vanquish fear, says Jennifer Racioppi

Waxing Quarter Moon // December 15 2018 // 6:49am ET // 23 degrees Pisces

With year-end madness in full-effect, and the personal development world not only encouraging you to see into the future but to begin to sculpt your next year accordingly, the last two weeks of the year might feel like pressure. Bone-crushing pressure.

Coming off of the bold and blunt Sagittarius New Moon’s cosmic invitation to claim your dream, the Universe now awaits your response. Where is your vision leading you, next?

In an ideal world, the answer might feel obvious. But considering the Piscean influence, direction can feel obscure and hazy. Pisces, after all, a sign ruled by trance-inducing, otherworldly Neptune, who inspires subterranean explorations of the subconscious, doesn’t always deliver tangibility.

What to do if you lack clarity on your future visions and goals? Embrace the unknown.

// The Cycle //
Waxing Quarter Moons often connect us to intentions set nine months prior. Consider what’s coming to your life now based on intentions set with the Pisces New Moon on March 17, 2018. What’s percolating in your life now that connects to energy set in motion then?

And in the current cycle, this half-way mark between the New Moon and Full Moon acts as a stepping stone, here to help you traverse the distance between where you are and where you want to be. As the assertive energies of the Sun clash with the yin-like qualities of the Moon, take this time to resolve any cognitive dissonance you may experience in your own life. Embracing this confrontation expedites the journey to clarity.

Use this Pisces Waxing Moon to center yourself and tap into your intuition as you prepare for both the Solstice and the upcoming Cancer Full Moon, which will invite you to come home to yourself even more. Like Dorothy walking the Yellow Brick Road in her ruby red shoes, this Pisces Moon is guiding you on a path home.

///

// The Transits //
With so much retrograde activity behind us, this halfway moment between the New and Full Moons boasts serious magic.

For starters, Mercury in Sagittarius prepares for its second alignment with Jupiter (the first of these conjunctions happened in late November, and the second will happen on the December 21st Solstice). The biggest planet in the solar system, who’s often referred to as Santa Claus, Jupiter has a tendency to deliver good news. With this meet-up between Jupiter and cosmic messenger Mercury in the expansive sign of Sagittarius, it’s the perfect moment to lean into the wave of positive momentum. Do you need to ask for something? Now’s the time.

Further, with the Moon in Pisces, conjoined to Mars, Chiron, and Neptune, which makes a sweet angle to Venus, this Pisces “stellium” activates healing on a cellular level, inviting you to feel and heal what’s no longer needed. Lean into your desires, not your fears, as you seek to live your dream.

To top this off, after a year riddled with heavy retrograde activity, only one planet remains retrograde: distant Uranus. The cosmos signals green lights for action. Use this time to assess what you’ve learned, and mindfully integrate the lessons obtained.

///

// The Square //
On the challenging side of things, the Sun in Sagittarius and the Moon in Pisces (magnified by the dense planetary activity in Pisces) blurs the lines. Go-big-or-go-home-Sagittarius strongly dissuades boundaries. And spiritually inclined and sensitive Pisces can go so deep into the dream that it forgets reality altogether. With the luminaries traveling in these two mutable signs, feelings, impulses, and urges might override the truth.

Stay on the lookout for lies, addiction, and deceit. Much like the Waxing Moon which appears as a half in the sky, but is indeed only at the quarter phase, this square asks you to decipher fact from illusion. Be aware of where you check out prematurely or run away as a coping mechanism.

///

// The Opportunity //
The high road here asks you to tap into the potential and power of your dreams, and the expansiveness of the moment, without losing a brass-tacks approach to rallying your life force energy on behalf of your desires.

Let this Waxing Quarter Moon in Pisces illuminate the next steps you need to take to not just bring the Sagittarius New Moon’s intentions to fruition, but to consider how what’s unfolding in your life now relates to intentions set during the 2018 Pisces cycle. What did you set in motion with the March 17th New Moon that’s coming to fruition now? Claim it!

It also invites sleep, healing sleep. This potent lunar moment invites you to genuinely enjoy the experience and engage out of bounds thinking — even lucid dreaming and astral travel (which is so Pisces).

With one week before the Winter Solstice, the darkest moment of the year, take advantage of the seasonal cue to sleep. Treat it as a ritual, and open wide for prophetic dreams!

THE 2018 SAGITTARIUS NEW MOON WANTS YOU TO FIND YOUR ‘WHY’

The 2018 Sagittarius New Moon is an opportunity for inspired curiosity, as we set off in search of our “why” and recover our very reason to live, says Sandy Sitron

New Moon :: December 7 2018 :: 2:21 am EST :: 15 degrees Sagittarius

An explosion of light as two worlds collide and a portal opens.

A portal is opening and that’s important. But let’s begin by understanding this symbolic explosion of light. In TV shows and movies there’s usually a flash of light when a portal opens up. Insight! Illumination! You see more clearly. There’s more to reality than one singular dimension.

On Friday, December 7th, there’s a New Moon in fiery Sagittarius. Sagittarius is the sign of truth-seeking. Bam! The centaur shoots a fire arrow to illuminate the target of truth. Yes, you are getting a flash of clarity. But it’s a little more complicated than that. This New Moon is a truth-seeking arrow that dissolves against the disappearing body of Mars and Neptune’s Cheshire cat.

Just like the mischievous and confusing Cheshire Cat, your clarity won’t take the form of answer. It takes the form of a question instead. You need to delineate a question and it has something to do with your values. Once you find your question, you can treat it like an egg in a nest. Just sit on it. Tend to it. Keep it warm and away from predators. Treat the question with the honor and respect that it deserves.

One thing that’s become clear during this year of many retrogrades: rushing forward because of emotional discomfort doesn’t get you anywhere. You can’t race through this process of sitting with the question.

But that doesn’t mean that you can’t be passionate, purposeful and exuberant while you hunt down your answers. You can. Raise your energetic vibration purposefully so that when you encounter the answer to your treasured embryonic question, you’ll be a vibrational match for the answer.

How do you change your vibration purposefully? Use your imagination. With Mars and Neptune square this Sagittarius New Moon, your imagination will take you to your target. Imagine a special control room in your mind that has a panel of dials. Visualize or notice a larger dial in the middle of the panel that says “Vibration.” Notice what level it is at now and ask your imagination if you need to turn up the dial. Then adjust it to the correct setting and remember you can always come back in the future and make more adjustments.

The Sagittarius New Moon is an opportunity to align yourself with the big question you need to be asking. When you have the right questions, then you can begin the wild hunt for the answers. When you are driven to understand “why” or “how,” you can raise your vibration up into a new dimension.

Sagittarius the explorer wants to find new worlds. Instead of being stuck in the pattern that already exists, you get above it to see the bigger picture. You can experience the “bam!” of illumination as you journey out of this world and into a mirror-image dimension.

The other dimension through the portal is exactly the same as this dimension, except for one thing; while our world is currently fueled by scarcity mentality, which causes greed and oppression, the driving force there is optimism and abundance.

If you can get through the portal, the mindset shift becomes: “There is enough, so what do I want teach, learn, explore? Not because I have to to survive, but because I am curious and alive.”

Imagine that you try to get into your car and it’s completely covered with loads of flowers! Not flower petals- entire flowers! It’s so much beauty and joy that the abundance almost becomes inconvenient. You would have to laugh and admire all the beauty while trying to clean off your car.

So much goodness. But is it in the right place? It all depends on how you look at the situation. Remember your gratitude practice and you’ll be able to accept the unexpected gifts that come your way.

This Cat has places to go and battles to disrupt. Along the way it creates quite the commotion. The world is confusing but we have try to go after what we want anyway. Or actively try to lift your vibration to experience your own unique sense of faith, purpose, and soul-level interconnectedness.

THE 2018 VIRGO WANING MOON WANTS YOU TO CLEAR THE WAY

As we move ever closer to the Solstice and New Year, the 2018 Virgo Waning Moon tempers Sagittarius Season with a precious pause. It’s prime time to purify, refine, and clear the decks for personal freedom, says Jennifer Racioppi

Waning Quarter Moon // November 29 2018 // 7:18pm ET // 7 degrees Virgo

As the Sun blazes through the mutable fire sign of Sagittarius and 2018 passes through its denouement, the Virgo Waning Moon invites you to embrace a life purification process.

While this Virgo Moon’s sense of organization, discipline, and attention to detail might feel contradictory to the larger-than-life influence of the current Sag stellium (the Sun, Jupiter, and Mercury are all traveling close to one another in this live-and-let-live sign of fun), leaning into Virgo’s austerity will accelerate your path towards the freedom you most crave.

With just a few weeks remaining before the Sun enters Capricorn, use this time to organize your life. You might consider purging your closet, refraining from making big year-end purchases, limiting your intake of alcohol and sugar, and letting go of toxic relationships.

Take a stand for your truth, and let the rest go. Staying disciplined now sets you up for success at the start of the new year.

///

// The Cycle //
In personal development circles, the idea of “becoming our best self” often equates with a journey of acquisition. Gaining the job/relationship/status/fill-in-the-blank becomes the objective. However, this journey towards achievement requires sacrifice too. Sacrifice means to release something of value to create or receive something of equal or more significant benefit.

While the Waning Moon often goes unnoticed, this is a critical time between the last Gemini Full Moon, and the upcoming Sagittarius New Moon. When used intelligently, this Moon is the missing ingredient in manifesting your New Moon wish. It asks you to make a sacrifice in order to achieve the freedom you ultimately desire.

In purity driven Virgo, this Moon commands discipline. As we inch closer and closer to the upcoming Solstice, consider any indulgences that are holding you back from the growth you crave most, and eliminate them. Yes. Choose to change. Now. (Not after the clock strikes midnight on January 1st).

// The Transits //
This Waning Quarter Moon happens at an exciting astrological moment. In the days leading up to this turning point in the lunar cycle, the Sun and Mercury (who’s retrograde) aligned in a perfect conjunction with Jupiter, the planet of growth, elevating the potential for expansion!

However, Mars the planet of action, squares this trifecta of awesome, and opposes the Virgo Moon, creating a t-square. This is a fancy way of saying that the freedom-seeking Sag Sun needs to slow his roll! Traveling through mutable Pisces, Mars ushers in a deeper understanding of the values driving the desires for gains.

While this might require a sacrifice in the short term, in the long term it will deliver on Jupiter’s promise of freedom during his yearlong transit through Sag. While sacrifice can sometimes feel punitive, here it offers liberation.

Mutable signs indicate change, and require you to engage with your transformation process (not just wish for it from the sidelines of your life). To support this, the Virgo Moon makes a perfect trine to Saturn in Capricorn and, simultaneously, Mars in Pisces sextiles Saturn. These harmonious angles with growth-through-sacrifice Saturn indicate that discipline trumps freedom now.

// The Square //
Virgo vs. Sagittarius is a classic battle between austerity (Virgo) and abundance (Sag). Both signs are mutable, meaning they prepare us for change, yet beyond that, they share few similarities.

The Virgo Moon aims to purify, reminding us that our emotional needs can be met through release. This is amplified by the fact that it’s the last Waning Quarter Moon before the Solstice, and this idea of surrender syncs perfectly with the metaphor of dwindling light.

Sagittarius, on the other hand, resists discipline in all forms. With a go-big-or-go-home motto, the Sag Sun drives merriment, not surrender. Yet, given Saturn’s essential participation during this Waning Moon, take this time to tune into the Virgo opportunity for purification. 2019 begins with the Sun and Saturn conjoined, meaning Saturn’s influence isn’t going anywhere. So we might as well honor him now and get a head start on the journey ahead.

// The Opportunity //
Like the Moon, which wanes back to new, surrendering the light of the Sun in the process, we have to learn how to yield to our rebirth, again and again, month after month. And often our resurrection depends upon our ability to let go of something we cling to, to make room for something we want.

With this Waning Quarter Moon in fastidious Virgo, forming a mutable T-Square with the Sun and Mars, our egos might feel a wee-bit under the gun—which makes total sense. However, honoring Virgo’s mission to call out old habits, patterns, people, and behaviors that once served you but now block you is critical to your growth trajectory—even if your ego despises this.

This Virgo Waning Moon presents the perfect cosmic moment to surrender into faith: to let go of something, or make a sacrifice, on behalf of what you most desire.

Your freedom hangs in the balance …

THE 2018 GEMINI FULL MOON WANTS YOU TO LIVE OUT LOUD

The 2018 Gemini Full Moon is a powerful opportunity to tune in to our environment, and let trust in abundant connection lead to compassionate communication, says Sandy Sitron

Full Moon ::  November 23 2018 :: 12:41 am EST :: 0 degrees Gemini

Listen to the blue jay sing. A splash of inspiring color against gray sky. But the bird is on attack. Caw caw caw. It scolds and picks with aggressive intensity. Then it takes flight and the whole interaction is forgotten.

On November 23rd, 2018, there’s a Full Moon in inquisitive, talkative Gemini. The Moon is opposite the Sun in truth-seeking Sagittarius.

There’s a potential to verbalize with this Full Moon. That drive to communicate can come through in different ways.

First of all, it’s fleeting (that’s something to be remembered in the midst of your next big conversation). What feels important is impermanent. Next, it’s vibrant. Fired up. A flash of interest, vitality, brightness. There is an urge to communicate with intensity.

That can result in sharing opinions that you’re not even sure you believe. Gemini likes to talk and Sagittarius likes to know. When it comes to conversation, who is listening? Notice an urge to nitpick or criticize, like the bossy blue jay. Maintain an airy sense of lightness. You can fly away from the conversation. You can let it go.

There are so many strands of information flying, so many truths to be determined with this expansive Full Moon. Be deliberate about the information you take in. Notice your environment. Who are you influenced by? Whose messages and opinions are seeping into your mental space?

If you aren’t deliberate, you’ll will find that you scatter your energy against the wind. This could happen through internet binges, continuously scrolling through social media, or asking for advice. How much do you want to take in?

The best results of this Full Moon energy come when you are driven by compassion. When in doubt, move through your world with an awareness that everything is interconnected.

The Moon in Gemini increases your desire for input. The Sun in Sagittarius pushes your ego to KNOW and to have your truth defined. This is an opposition of energies that can be solved by the T-square to Mars in Pisces. Translation? Take all of this cerebral processing and balance it with your drive to feel emotionally connected.

When your actions are guided by a feeling of continuous and universal love, all is well …

Bundles of flowers overwhelm the aisle.
So much abundance, it’s hard to decide where it should all go. Of course that’s not a problem. Let yourself be lifted into a positive vibration by this radiant energy. You don’t have to maintain a limit on how much happiness you’ll allow. Notice if your joy is immediately followed by thoughts of worry and fear. If that happens, remind yourself that you really do get to be happy. Your joy won’t be counteracted. You won’t jinx yourself by talking about your good luck. And you aren’t taking up too much space. There’s always room for more flowers.

Just keep going and going. There doesn’t need to be friction. There’s so much movement in general with this Full Moon making a challenging angle to action planet Mars, and a slew of planets in mutable signs. Take up the pace you need to take. Go for it. Make all of your adjustments. Just remember to keep your center of balance. You don’t want to spin out of control. Mars is in Pisces, so your actions need to be filtered through a vibration of love and compassion. That will help it all mean something.
