FEATURING a lip-pierced little girl experiencing something of a psychic awakening, the trippy-pretty video for Wisonsin folk band The Daredevil Christopher’s Wright’s “I & Thou” has been on repeat this week. Firstly there’s the track itself, which sounds like the sun setting on the first day of spring. “I woke up this morning, I thought I’d been transformed, my body turned to sea,” sing Jon and Jason Sunde, in the sweetest of harmonies. Indeed. And then there’s the girl, who’s got the gift of psychometry (the ability to “see” the history of objects through touch), eyes that bore right into your soul and a totally rad grunge thing going on.

There are planets, there are unicorns, there is even a fabric called “Saturn brocade.”

YOU’VE got Ibiza, Glastonbury, and…Hollywood? Certain global locations just seem to rob people of their inhibitions and inspire the kind of semi-naked, joyous hands-in-the-air dancing photographer Brad Elterman captured at this 1977 pool party at a mansion behind the Beverly Hills Hotel. Maybe it was just the 1970s (“back then it wasn’t too much of a big deal going to a Mega Mansion party in Beverly Hills with nude girls, because I attended three or four a week!” he says) – or maybe you could put it down to the ley lines.
